Abstract Tilapia is one of the most important aquaculture species due to the desirable characteristics as easy reproduction and quick growth in several farming systems, including the recirculating aquaculture systems RAS. In this, the high flow of water to remove waste casually stimulates the fish to swim backset, and growth performance may be improved. Increasing the speed of swimming can improve performance within certain limits, in which however if exceeded can be harmful. Fish may be exhausted leading to impaired growth or even mortality. The objective of this work was to evaluate the growth performance of tilapia juveniles under sustained swimming exercise at different speeds. Additionally, the fish stocking density effect was tested in the sustained swimming exercise condition. In the first experiment, Nile tilapia juveniles were submitted in triplicates to sustained swimming exercise in speeds of control (not exercised), 1 BL/s (body length per second), 1.5 BL/s and 2 BL/s. In the second experiment, two fish stocking densities were tested in triplicates in sustained swimming exercise in speed of 2 BL/s and control not exercised. Fish growth performance was improved by sustained swimming exercise in speeds up to 2 BL/s. No expressive fish mortalities were observed in both experiments. The comparison between the two stocking densities does not allow us to safely say tilapia can be reared at stocking densities in order of 1,000 fish/m3, even under sustained swimming exercise. Other densities need to be tested.

Trypanosomosis is a disease complex which affects both humans and animals in sub-Saharan Africa, transmitted by the tsetse fly and distributed within the tsetse belt of Africa. But some trypanosome species, for example, Trypanosoma brucei evansi, T. vivax, T. theileri and T. b. equiperdum are endemic outside the tsetse belt of Africa transmitted by biting flies, for example, Tabanus and Stomoxys, or venereal transmission, respectively. Trypanocidal drugs remain the principal method of animal trypanosomosis control in most African countries. However, there is a growing concern that their effectiveness may be severely curtailed by widespread drug resistance. A minimum number of six male cattle calves were recruited for the study. They were randomly grouped into two (T. vivax and T. congolense groups) of three calves each. One calf per group served as a control while two calves were treatment group. They were inoculated with 10(5) cells/mL parasites in phosphate buffered solution (PBS) in 2 mL. When parasitaemia reached 1 × 10(7.8) cells/mL trypanosomes per mL in calves, treatment was instituted with 20 mL (25 mg/kg in 100 kg calf) ascofuranone (AF) for treatment calves, while the control ones were administered a placebo (20 mL PBS) intramuscularly. This study revealed that T. vivax was successfully cleared by AF but the T. congolense group was not cleared effectively. CONTRIBUTION: There is an urgent need to develop new drugs which this study sought to address. It is suggested that the AF compound can be developed further to be a sanative drug for T. vivax in non-tsetse infested areas like South Americas

Abstract This work sought to identify the conceptions of black women in socioeconomic vulnerability in a neighborhood in the Northwest Zone of the municipality of Santos about health and self-care in reproductive health. This is a qualitative research carried out via semi-structured interviews with 19 self-declared black women. Qualitative data were submitted to Content Analysis. The results revealed conceptions about health and self-care that involve the biomedical aspect and a perception of integral health. In conclusion, women consider health and self-care very important; however, they attribute to the medical professional a relevant role in maintaining this self-care, disregarding the daily practices carried out autonomously.

Resumo Neste trabalho se buscou identificar as concepções de mulheres negras em vulnerabilidade socioeconômica de um bairro da Zona Noroeste do município de Santos sobre saúde e autocuidado em saúde reprodutiva. Trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa realizada por meio de entrevista semiestruturada com 19 mulheres autodeclaradas negras. Os dados qualitativos foram submetidos à Análise de Conteúdo. Os resultados revelaram concepções acerca da saúde e do autocuidado que envolvem não apenas o aspecto biomédico, mas também a percepção de saúde integral. Concluiu-se que as mulheres consideram a saúde e o autocuidado como algo de grande importância, entretanto, atribuem ao profissional de medicina papel relevante na manutenção desse autocuidado, desconsiderando as práticas diárias que realizam de forma autônoma.

ABSTRACT Tomato fruit blotch virus (ToFBV) is a blunervirus that causes blotches on mature tomato (Solanum lycopersicon L.) fruits in Italy and Australia in 2020, and was newly detected in Brazil. A cytological study on pericarp tissues from the blotched areas of infected fruits collected in Brasília, Brazil, revealed characteristic cell alterations. Small and slender bacilliform particles (ca. 25 nm wide × 100 nm long) were found accumulating in the perinuclear space and the lumen of the endoplasmic reticulum of the epidermis, peri- and mesocarp cells. No viroplasm-like inclusion was observed either in the nuclei or in the cytoplasm. Such cell alterations are reminiscent of those described in cultured mosquito cells infected by negeviruses, an unofficial group of insect viruses. Negeviruses and some other arthropod-borne viruses shared a common ancestor in the RdRp gene with kitavirids, including blunerviruses. Although additional detailed studies are required, we show evidence that ToFBV particles are enveloped and bacilliform, and that such similarity in cytopathology seems to support the evolutionary relationship between plant kitavirids and insect negeviruses.

Aim Endocrown restorations are commonly used to rehabilitate endodontically treated posterior teeth and their use is well-founded in these cases. However, to date, there is little scientific evidence of their behavior in anterior teeth. The aim of this in vitro study was to evaluate the compressive strength of upper central incisors teeth, restored with glass-ceramic total crowns by the conventional anatomical core technique, and compare them to teeth restored with endocrowns with and without the presence of ferrule. Methods Thirty teeth were randomly distributed into three groups: GE2 - endocrown group with 2 mm ferrule, GE0 - endocrown group without a ferrule, and GC - conventional crown with intraradicular post group. Crowns were cemented and teeth submitted to the 45o compression test until the fracture happened. Fractured specimens were analyzed to determine the fracture pattern. Descriptive analysis of the variables was performed and one-way analysis of variance was utilized to analyze the data for significant differences at p < 0.05. Results The results of the control group (284.5 ± 201.05N) showed the highest fracture resistance value, followed by the 2mm group (274.54 ± 199.43N) and by the 0mm group (263.81 ± 80.05N). There was no statistically significant difference between all the groups (p = 0.964). Conclusions The absence of a cervical enamel necklace favored a debonding of the pieces and endodontically treated anterior teeth could be restored with endocrown, which could be considered a conservative and viable treatment option.

Resumo: Diversos processos que permeiam a assistência à saúde, incluindo a reabilitação, precisam de brevidade para ser iniciados ou não podem ser interrompidos. Sendo assim, estes passaram por importantes adaptações durante a pandemia de COVID-19. Porém, não se sabe ao certo como os equipamentos de saúde adaptaram suas estratégias e quais foram os resultados. O estudo investigou como os atendimentos em reabilitação foram afetados durante a pandemia e quais foram as estratégias para a manutenção dos serviços prestados. Entre junho de 2020 e fevereiro de 2021, realizaram-se 17 entrevistas semiestruturadas com profissionais de saúde da área da reabilitação do Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS), que atuam em um dos três níveis de atenção, nas cidades de Santos e São Paulo, Estado de São Paulo, Brasil. Os discursos foram gravados, transcritos e analisados por meio da análise de conteúdo. Os profissionais relataram mudanças organizacionais em seus serviços, com a interrupção inicial dos atendimentos e, posteriormente, com a adoção de novos protocolos sanitários e o retorno gradativo dos atendimentos presenciais e/ou a distância. As condições de trabalho foram diretamente impactadas, pois houve necessidade de dimensionamento, capacitação, ampliação de carga horária, além da sobrecarga de trabalho e do esgotamento físico e mental dos profissionais. A pandemia determinou uma série de mudanças nos serviços de saúde, por vezes descontínuas, com a suspensão de inúmeros serviços e atendimentos. Alguns atendimentos presenciais foram mantidos, apenas para os pacientes que apresentavam risco de agravo em curto prazo. Medidas sanitárias preventivas e estratégias de continuidade dos atendimentos foram adotadas.

Resumen: Diversos procesos que impregnan la asistencia a la salud, incluida la rehabilitación, deben iniciarse con prontitud o no pueden interrumpirse. Por lo que estos sufrieron importantes adaptaciones durante la pandemia de COVID-19. Sin embargo, no se sabe con certeza cómo las instalaciones de salud adaptaron sus estrategias y cuáles fueron los resultados. El estudio investigó cómo se vieron afectados los servicios de rehabilitación durante la pandemia y cuáles fueron las estrategias para mantener los servicios prestados. Entre junio del 2020 y febrero del 2021, se realizaron 17 entrevistas semiestructuradas con profesionales de la salud del área de rehabilitación del Sistema Único de Salud (SUS), que actúan en uno de los tres niveles de atención, en las ciudades de Santos y São Paulo, estado de São Paulo, Brasil. Los discursos se grabaron, se transcribieron y se analizaron mediante análisis de contenido. Los profesionales relataron cambios organizacionales en sus servicios, con la interrupción inicial de la atención y, posteriormente, con la adopción de nuevos protocolos sanitarios y el regreso gradual de la atención presencial o a distancia. Las condiciones de trabajo se vieron directamente afectadas, ya que fue necesario el dimensionamiento, la capacitación, la ampliación de la carga horaria, además de la sobrecarga de trabajo y del agotamiento físico y mental de los profesionales. La pandemia determinó una serie de cambios en los servicios de salud, en ocasiones discontinuos, con la suspensión de numerosos servicios y atenciones. Se mantuvieron algunas atenciones presenciales, solo para los pacientes con riesgo de agravamiento a corto plazo. Se adoptaron medidas sanitarias preventivas y estrategias de continuidad de las atenciones.

Abstract: Several healthcare processes, including rehabilitation, require prompt initiation and cannot be interrupted. Therefore, these processes underwent important adaptations during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, it is not fully known how healthcare facilities adapted their strategies and what the results were. This study investigated how rehabilitation services were affected during the pandemic and what strategies were employed to maintain the provided services. From June 2020 to February 2021, 17 semi-structured interviews were conducted with healthcare professionals working in rehabilitation services from the Brazilian Unified National Health System (SUS), who work at one of the three levels of care, in the municipalities of Santos and São Paulo, state of São Paulo, Brazil. The interviews were recorded, transcribed, and analyzed via content analysis. The professionals reported organizational changes in their services, with the initial interruption of appointments and, subsequently, the adoption of new sanitary protocols and the gradual return to in-person and/or remote appointments. Working conditions were directly impacted, as there was a need for staffing, training, increased workloads, as well as physical and mental exhaustion among professionals. The pandemic caused a series of changes in healthcare services, some of which were interrupted due to the suspension of numerous services and appointments. Some in-person appointments were maintained exclusively for patients who presented a risk of short-term deterioration. Preventive sanitary measures and strategies for continuity of care were adopted.

ABSTRACT Objective: This randomized crossover trial evaluated periodontal indexes of two types of 3 x 3 retainers (a modified 0.032-in SS V-loop retainer and a conventional 0.0215-in SS coaxial wire retainer) after bonded for six months. Also, bonded failure rate, and a questionnaire about comfort, ease of cleaning and overall preference were recorded. Material and Methods: 15 patients were enrolled in this study who used both retainers for six months each, having a 15-day wash-out interval between each bonded retainer usage. The following periodontal index were recorded: Plaque Index (PI), Calculus Index (CI) and Gingival Index (GI). Patients answered a questionnaire to assess comfort, ease of cleaning and overall retainer-type preference. Rate of bonding failure was also evaluated. Results: V-Loop retainer showed higher PI (P<0.05) as compared to conventional 0.0215-in coaxial wire retainer. However, CI and GI presented no statistically significant differences between both types of retainers. The conventional 0.0215-in coaxial wire retainer was chosen as the most comfortable (p<0.05), although no statistically significant differences were found for all other questionnaire answers. Bonding failure events were more observed in the 3x3 V-Loop retainer (p<0.002), as compared to the conventional 0.0215-in coaxial retainer. Conclusion: V-Loop retainer showed higher PI (p<0.05), higher bonding failure rate and less comfortable, as compared to conventional 0.0215-in coaxial wire.

RESUMO Objetivo: Este estudo cruzado e randomizado avaliou os índices periodontais de dois tipos de contenções 3x3 (uma contenção aço V-Loop de 0,032” modificada e uma contenção convencional de fio coaxial aço de 0,0215”) após colagem, por seis meses. Além disso, foram registradas a taxa de falha na colagem e um questionário sobre conforto, facilidade de limpeza e preferência geral. Material e Métodos: Foram incluídos nesse estudo 15 pacientes que usaram ambas as contenções por seis meses cada, com intervalo de quinze dias entre cada contenção fixa. Foram registrados os seguintes índices periodontais: Índice de Placa (IP), Índice de Cálculo (IC) e Índice Gengival (IG). Os pacientes responderam a um questionário para avaliar o conforto, a facilidade de limpeza e a preferência geral pelo tipo de contenção. A taxa de falha de colagem também foi avaliada. Resultados: A contenção V-Loop apresentou maior IP (p<0,05) em comparação ao fio coaxial convencional. Entretanto, IC e IG não apresentaram diferenças estatisticamente significativas entre as contenções testadas. A contenção convencional de fio coaxial 0,0215” foi escolhida como a mais confortável (p<0,05), embora não tenham sido encontradas diferenças estatisticamente significativas para todas as outras respostas do questionário. Eventos de falha de colagem foram mais observados na contenção V-Loop 3 x 3 (p<0,002) em comparação com a contenção coaxial convencional de 0,0215”. Conclusão: A contenção V-Loop apresentou maior IP (p<0,05), maior taxa de falha de colagem e foi menos confortável em comparação ao fio coaxial convencional 0,0215”.

ABSTRACT Objective: To estimate the prevalence and to analyze the factors associated with the death of older people hospitalized due to Covid-19 in the state of Paraná. Method: Cross-sectional study conducted with secondary data from older people with a positive diagnosis of Covid-19 living in the State of Paraná, collected from March 1, 2020 to August 31, 2021. Prevalence ratios were obtained by adjusting the regression model. Results: A total of 16,153 deaths of older people hospitalized in the State of Paraná were analyzed. The adjusted model revealed an association between death and some factors such as: belonging to the age group of 75 to 84 years (PR = 1.28; CI95% = 1.24–1.32) and 85 years or over (PR = 1.52; CI95% = 1.45–1.59); male (PR = 1.17; CI95% = 1.13–1.21); obesity (PR = 1.23; CI95% = 1.16–1.29); other morbidities (PR = 1.25; CI95% = 1.20–1.30); and having used ventilatory support (PR = 2.60; CI95% = 2.33–2.86). Older people vaccinated against influenza had a probability of death reduced by 11% (PR = 0.89; CI95% = 0.86–0.93). Conclusion: The association of age, sex, and diagnosis of previous comorbidities with unfavorable outcomes from Covid-19 was identified. Having received the flu vaccine provided protection to elderly people who contracted SARS-CoV-2.

RESUMEN Objetivo: Prevalencia y factores asociados a la muerte de personas mayores hospitalizadas por Covid-19 en el estado de Paraná* Método: Estudio transversal realizado con datos secundarios de personas mayores con diagnóstico positivo de Covid-19 residentes en el Estado de Paraná, recolectados del 1 de marzo de 2020 al 31 de agosto de 2021. Las razones de prevalencia se obtuvieron ajustando el modelo de regresión. Resultados: Se analizaron 16.153 muertes de personas mayores hospitalizadas en el Estado de Paraná. El modelo ajustado reveló asociación entre la muerte y algunos factores como: pertenecer al grupo etario de 75 a 84 años (RP = 1,28; IC95% = 1,24–1,32) y 85 años o más (RP = 1,52; IC95% = 1,45–1,59); masculino (RP = 1,17; IC95% = 1,13–1,21); obesidad (RP = 1,23; IC95% = 1,16–1,29); otras morbilidades (RP = 1,25; IC95% = 1,20–1,30); y haber utilizado soporte ventilatorio (RP = 2,60; IC95% = 2,33–2,86). Las personas mayores vacunadas contra la influenza tuvieron una probabilidad de muerte reducida en un 11% (RP = 0,89; IC95% = 0,86–0,93). Conclusión: Se identificó la asociación de la edad, el sexo y el diagnóstico de comorbilidades previas con resultados desfavorables por Covid-19. Haber recibido la vacuna contra la gripe brindó protección a las personas mayores que contrajeron el SARS-CoV-2.

RESUMO Objetivo: Estimar a prevalência e analisar os fatores associados ao óbito de idosos hospitalizados por Covid-19 no Estado do Paraná. Método: Estudo transversal conduzido com dados secundários de idosos com diagnóstico positivo de Covid-19 residentes no Estado do Paraná, coletados no período de 01 de março de 2020 a 31 de agosto de 2021. As razões de prevalências foram obtidas por meio do ajuste de modelo de regressão. Resultados: Foram analisados 16.153 óbitos de idosos hospitalizados no Estado do Paraná. O modelo ajustado revelou associação do óbito a alguns fatores como: pertencer a faixa etária dos 75 a 84 anos (RP = 1,28; IC95% = 1,24–1,32) e 85 anos ou mais (RP = 1,52; IC95% = 1,45–1,59); sexo masculino (RP = 1,17; IC95% = 1,13–1,21); obesidade (RP = 1,23; IC95% = 1,16–1,29); outras morbidades (RP = 1,25; IC95% = 1,20–1,30); e ter utilizado suporte ventilatório (RP = 2,60; IC95% = 2,33-2,86). Idosos vacinados contra a gripe tiveram probabilidade de morte reduzida em 11% (RP = 0,89; IC95% = 0,86–0,93). Conclusão: Identificou-se a associação da idade, sexo e diagnóstico de comorbidades prévias aos desfechos desfavoráveis da Covid-19. Ter recebido o imunizante contra a gripe conferiu proteção aos idosos que contraíram o SARS-CoV-2.

Abstract Colonizations/Infections caused by carbapenem-resistant Enterobacterales are of great clinical and epidemiological importance due to their rapid dissemination and high mortality rates. In this scenario, the use of antibiotics intensified by the COVID-19 pandemic has brought about a great warning on the real impact that this pandemic could have on antimicrobial management programs and long-term antimicrobial resistance rates. The objective of this study was to evaluate the increase of New Delhi Metallo β-Lactamase (NDM)-producing Enterobacterales cases in COVID-19 units of a complex Brazilian tertiary hospital. This retrospective observational study included all patients admitted to the hospital identified as colonized or infected by NDM-producing Gram negative bacilli (GNB), from January 2017 to April 2021. Forty-two NDM-producing Enterobacterales were identified in 39 patients. The rate of NDM cases per total surveillance cultures increased progressively between 2017 and 2021 (chi-2 for trend, p < 0.0001) and was associated with a higher occurrence specifically in COVID units (Fisher exact, p < 0.0001). The molecular investigation of the NDM-producing Klebsiella pneumoniae strains revealed the emergence of diverse clones during the COVID-19 period, also with possible evidence of horizontal transmission among patients within COVID units. NDM-producing Enterobacterales with multiple and different clonalities in the COVID-19 units also raised questions about the importance of other factors besides horizontal clonal transfer, including the increase of antimicrobial consumption by these patients.

ABSTRACT. In no-till (NT), liming and urea fertilization are performed on the soil surface, which can increase nitrogen (N) losses via ammonia volatilization. On the basis of N fertilization management, gypsum application provides a promising alternative for improving N uptake by plants. Therefore, the objective of this study was to evaluate the N behavior loss by NH3-N volatilization, the soil pH at a depth of 0 - 0.05 m, leaf N content, and N uptake by second-season corn after lime and gypsum application in a Rhodic Ferralsol under NT. Overall, the treatments consisted of a 4 × 4 factorial arrangement with four lime rates (0, 2.6, 5.4, and 8.1 Mg ha-1) and four gypsum rates (0, 4, 8, and 12 Mg ha-1). During the study period, second-season corn was cultivated for two years and fertilized with urea, for which the N losses through ammonia volatilization, soil pH, leaf N content, and N uptake values were quantified. The losses through ammonia volatilization were subjected to nonlinear regression using a logistic model, and the other variables were subjected to linear regressions. The lime applied by broadcasting on the soil surface in the NT increased the pH of the topsoil and increased N losses via NH3-N volatilization in the second-season corn. Further, the N losses in the NT treated with lime accounted for 58% of the applied N, which increased by 2.3 to 2.5% for each Mg ha-1 of lime applied. Therefore, lime or gypsum application did not improve the status of N in second-season corn in soils with low acidity and no S deficiency.

Abstract The relationship between health and migration was severely affected during the covid-19 pandemic. This article discusses the literature on health and migration, including the deteriorating levels of social and economic vulnerability of international migrants to Brazil in 2020 and 2021. The analysis was based on a review of articles published in the national and international press addressing the impacts of covid-19 on contemporary processes of human mobility and its consequences for stigmatized populations. The results point to the possibility of understanding the pandemic as a key moment for rethinking nationality and borders.

Resumo As relações entre saúde e migrações foram duramente afetadas durante a pandemia de covid-19. O presente artigo discute a produção sobre saúde e migrações e problematiza o agravamento da condição de vulnerabilidade social e econômica dos migrantes internacionais durante 2020 e 2021, no Brasil. A pesquisa vem sendo realizada por meio de revisão da literatura de matérias retiradas da imprensa nacional e internacional e busca abordar os impactos da covid-19 nos processos contemporâneos de mobilidade humana e quais suas consequências para as populações estigmatizadas. Os resultados apontam para a possibilidade de se compreender a pandemia como um momento-chave para repensar nacionalidade e fronteira.

Abstract Objectives: The aim of this study was to evaluate the prevalence of the frontal cell variants according to International Frontal Sinus Anatomy Classification (IFAC), in the population of a Brazilian tertiary hospital, and analyze the reliability of the classification between observers. Methods: A cross-sectional study in the Hospital de Clínicas of the State University of Campinas, Brazil. One hundred and three Computed Tomography’s (CTs) were evaluated by radiologists and otorhinolaryngologist to estimate the prevalence of frontoethmoidal cells according to the IFAC. Intraclass Correlation Coefficient (ICC) among examinators was used to evaluate reliability of this findings. Results: 103 CT scans, totaling 206 sides, were evaluated independently. The agger nasi cell was the most prevalent, present in 95.63% of cases, 37.86% of the exams contained supra agger cells, frontal supra agger cell showed prevalence 37.37%; suprabularcell was present in 77.18% of the sides. As for the frontal suprabular cell, the prevalence was 30.09%, the supraorbital ethmoid cell was present in 32.03%, and frontal septal cell had a 33.49% prevalence. The ICC among the evaluators was classified as “good reliability” or “excellent reliability” for all cells. Conclusion: This study describes the frontal cell prevalence among a population in tertiary Brazilian hospital, using the IFAC. This classification had a high ICC. Level of evidence: Level 2: Individual cross-sectional study with consistently applied reference standard and blinding.

RESUMO Objetivos: analisar os desfechos jurídicos de erros no cuidado perioperatório e na assistência ao parto e nascimento relacionados à enfermagem, sob a ótica do respaldo legal para prevenção de falhas. Métodos: estudo exploratório, documental, qualitativo, realizado com base nos casos julgados pelo Tribunal de Justiça do Estado do Paraná, disponíveis on-line até abril de 2018. Para a análise dos dados, os processos foram codificados, o desfecho judicial foi sumarizado pela gravidade do erro; depois, apresentaram-se práticas recomendadas à prevenção de cada caso. Resultados: dentre os 13 processos analisados, 8 correspondiam ao período perioperatório (principalmente queimadura por eletrocautério); e 5, à assistência de enfermagem ao parto e ao nascimento. A gravidade dos casos foi alta (n=7). O desfecho judicial da maioria dos casos (n=11) foi a condenação da instituição. Conclusões: apesar da multifatoriedade dos erros, as falhas identificadas são passíveis de prevenção, haja vista a existência de descrição de boas práticas.

ABSTRACT Objectives: to analyze the legal outcomes of malpractices in perioperative care, and delivery and birth assistance related to nursing, from the perspective of legal support for malpractice prevention. Methods: an exploratory, documentary, qualitative study, based on the cases tried by the Court of Justice of the State of Paraná, available online until April 2018. For the data analysis, we codified the processes and summarized the judicial outcome by the severity of the malpractice. Then, we recommended practices for the prevention of each case we presented. Results: among the thirteen processes analyzed, eight corresponded to the perioperative period (mainly electrocautery burn), and five to nursing care for delivery and birth. The severity of the cases was high (n=7). The judicial outcome of most cases (n=11) was the conviction of the institution. Conclusions: despite the multifactorial nature of the malpractices, the identified ones are preventable since there is a description of good practices.

RESUMEN Objetivos: analizar los desfechos jurídicos de errores en la atención perioperativa y asistencia al parto y nacimiento relacionados a enfermería, bajo la óptica del respaldo legal para prevención de errores. Métodos: estudio exploratorio, documental, cualitativo, basado en casos juzgados por el Tribunal de Justicia del Estado de Paraná, disponibles en línea hasta abril de 2018. Análisis de los datos, los procesos fueron codificados, el desfecho judicial fue sintetizado por gravedad del error; después, presentaron prácticas recomendadas a prevención de cada caso. Resultados: entre los 13 procesos analizados, 8 correspondían al perioperatorio (principalmente quemadura por electrocauterio); y 5, a asistencia de enfermería al parto y nacimiento. Gravedad de los casos fue alta (n=7). Desfecho judicial de la mayoría de los casos (n=11) fue la condenación de la institución. Conclusiones: aunque la multifactoriedad de los errores, los errores identificados son pasibles de prevención, haya vista la existencia de descripción de buenas prácticas.
